Uncharted Golden Abyss was the Vita’s launch attempt at a console quality game. Does it deliver what it set out to do or does it fall flat on its face.

The Uncharted gameplay has pretty much been extracted straight from Uncharted 1. The game set out to showcase the Vita’s exotic features but most of these just are irritating and break the games flow.

The game looks like a combination of Uncharted 1 and 2 but some animations are missing like when you fall from a high place you don’t roll you just stumble a bit.

The game is about 8 hours long and there are collectibles. You fill out collectibles in your journal which is oddly addicting.

The game is set before Drake’s Fortune the new characters are really hit or miss. The story picks up half way through because Drake and Sully’s back and forth is entertaining.

All of the classic voice actors return which is not really saying much because there are only two returning characters.

The game loads like previous game Uncharted 2.

Uncharted Golden Abyss is a good game and I would love to see a sequel from Sony Bend. If you own a Vita you should check this out. It isn’t a system seller unless you love Uncharted.
