The Ratchet & Clank Trilogy is here but is it a trip down memory lane with roses or landmines.
The gameplay hasn’t taken any hits with the same awesome guns. Ratchet 1 feels dated but that’s fine because this isn’t claiming to be a remake just an HD re-release.
Speaking of which the HD looks nice and the art-style has aged well but in Ratchet 2 and 3 you can see in the cutscenes that his hat is hovering over his head.
There are 3 games in 1 in this package, in total the all of the main single player content took me around 24 hours. But that’s not counting challenge plus collectibles and other goodies. No one really plays the online multiplayer of Ratchet 3 but that’s ok. Let’s quickly do the maths here a $50 dollar game that has 24 hours or a $100 for a game that takes 6 hours to complete.
The sound effects are unchanged and awesome with meaty weapon effects that make my balls feel big.
The plot is entertaining and funny dialogue the game is genuinely funny. Unlike most games that just play it straight and claim its irony, Bulletstorm, not looking at anyone.
The menus are nice but you cannot return to the game select screen without quitting the game which breaks flow. Another thing is that the quick select pause is gone.
The Ratchet and Clank Trilogy is a great game or collection of games that you should totally buy especially if you are interested in your gaming history.
